I John Basham of the County of Franklin & State of Virginia knowing the reto, appoint this to be my last will & Testament. I give to my wife Su sanna Basham all my estate both real and personal of any sort or kind w hatsoever to be enjoyed by her as she pleases during her natural life a nd after her decease, I give to my friend John Turner of the County of B edford forty acres of land adjoining the land whereon my son Elijah Bas ham now lives to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my son John B asham after the decease of my wife forty acres of land adjoining the la nd whereon he now lives to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my s on Jonathan Basham eighty acres of land to include the house and improv ements whereon I now live after the death of my wife together with all m y stock of cattle, horse, hogs, and sheep to him & his heirs forever. I a lso give to my son Elijah Basham forty acres of land after the decease o f my wife adjoining the land on which he now lives to him and his heirs f orever and the balance of my estate after the death of my wife my will a nd desire is that the same may be equally divided between my children J ohn Basham, Jonathan Basham, Elijah Basham, William Basham, and Jonatha n Basham. And lastly I appoint my sons John Basham and Elijah Basham to b e Executors of this my last will and testament witness my hand & seal t his 28th day of January 1825.
